She is a staff specialist nephrologist and transplant physician at Westmead Hospital, caring for people with kidney disease and kidney transplantation. Her clinical interests include kidney and pancreas transplantation, amyloidosis and monoclonal gammopathy of renal significance (MGRS). Dr Li completed her clinical training (FRACP, adult nephrology) in 2019, rotating through Westmead, Blacktown, Nepean, Orange and Gosford Hospitals.

Dr Li is actively involved with mentoring and teaching, this includes both medical students from the Sydney Medical School (University of Sydney) and clinical trainees rotating through renal medicine.

Dr Li completed her PhD and continued on as a post-doctoral research fellow at WIMR. She is a research co-lead for the newly established Transplant Genomics Group.
